Terms of Service and End User License Agreement

App: Let Them Cook

Operator: Let Them Cook

Contact: contact@letthemcookapp.com

These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Let Them Cook, including our mobile apps, web app, website, AI recipe generation, pantry management, meal planning, shopping list, Chef assistant, public recipe sharing, and related services (the "Service").

By creating an account, downloading the app, using the Service, or tapping to accept these Terms, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Service. You represent that you have authority to enter into these Terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. License to use the app

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app and access the Service for personal, non-commercial use.

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, or exploit the Service except as permitted by law or these Terms.

4. What the Service does and does not do

Let Them Cook helps you manage pantry items, discover recipes, generate AI-assisted suggestions, plan meals, create shopping lists, receive reminders, and use the Chef assistant. The Service is not a medical, nutritionist, dietitian, allergen-testing, food safety, grocery fulfillment, or emergency service.

Approximate nutrition, macros, expiry warnings, allergy filters, dietary labels, and AI-generated cooking guidance are informational only. Always use your own judgment and verify ingredients, labels, allergens, freshness, expiry, storage, cooking temperatures, and suitability before cooking or eating.

5. AI-generated content

Recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, pantry parsing, thumbnails, and Chef responses may be generated or assisted by AI. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, biased, unsafe, or unsuitable for your needs. You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs before relying on them.

Do not use the Service to generate unlawful, harmful, misleading, dangerous, abusive, infringing, or deceptive content. You must not attempt to bypass safety filters, manipulate prompts, or use the Service to produce content that could harm others.

6. Pantry photos, voice input, and user verification

Photo and voice features are designed to reduce manual entry, not to guarantee accuracy. You must review and confirm parsed pantry items, quantities, units, expiry dates, ingredients, allergens, and shopping list items before saving or using them.

Do not upload photos or audio containing personal information about other people, payment cards, government IDs, or sensitive information unless you have the right and reason to do so.

7. Allergy, nutrition, and food safety warnings

You are responsible for your dietary decisions. We do not guarantee that recipes are allergen-free, safe for medical conditions, appropriate for pregnancy, safe for children, or suitable for any nutritional goal. Cross-contamination, mislabeled food, substitutions, expired items, storage issues, AI mistakes, and user-entered errors can create risk.

Seek advice from a qualified medical professional or registered dietitian before making diet changes for a medical condition. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.

8. User content

You may submit, upload, enter, save, publish, or share content, including pantry items, photos, voice commands, recipe prompts, recipes, comments, feedback, and public recipe links ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, modify, display, transmit, and use User Content as necessary to provide, secure, improve, and operate the Service, including AI features and public sharing features you choose to use.

For public recipe sharing, you grant us the right to publish the shared recipe and related public metadata through a public link until removed or disabled, subject to technical retention and backup limits.

9. Public recipe sharing and community rules

If you publish or share a recipe link, others may view and share it. You must not publish content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, harassing, defamatory, misleading, medically dangerous, infringing, spammy, or otherwise objectionable.

We may remove, restrict, de-index, or moderate public content and may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or our Community and Public Recipe Sharing Policy.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

1. violate law or third-party rights;

2. interfere with, disrupt, scrape, overload, or attack the Service;

3. bypass rate limits, access controls, or security measures;

4. reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code except where legally allowed;

5. use bots or automated access without permission;

6. upload malware, harmful code, or unlawful content;

7. impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation;

8. collect or disclose another person’s data without permission;

9. use the Service for professional medical, nutritionist, food safety, or emergency advice;

10. use AI features to generate harmful or prohibited content.

11. Notifications

If you enable notifications, we may send meal reminders, expiry warnings, restock suggestions, account notices, and service messages. You can manage notification preferences in the app or through device settings. Some essential account or security messages may still be sent by email.

12. Subscriptions, paid features, and refunds

The core Service may include free features and optional paid features. If we introduce Pro plans, subscriptions, in-app purchases, or trials, the price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, and cancellation method will be shown before purchase.

Purchases made through Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by the relevant app store and subject to its payment and refund rules. You can cancel app store subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.

Unless required by law or app store policy, fees are non-refundable after purchase. If we offer a free trial, it may convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

13. Third-party services

The Service may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, AI models, image generation, transcription, push notifications, analytics, diagnostics, payments, and app distribution. Third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal information. By using the Service, you acknowledge our Privacy Policy.

15. Account deletion and termination

You may delete your account through the app or by using our account deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk, cause harm, or if required by law.

After account deletion or termination, some information may be retained where legally required, for security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, backup retention, or other legitimate purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Intellectual property

The Service, app design, brand, logos, software, code, models integrations, workflows, documentation, and related materials are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are granted to you.

17. Feedback

If you provide feedback or suggestions, you grant us the right to use them without restriction or compensation.

18. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy to the fullest extent permitted by law.

19. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, personal injury, food-related harm, health decisions, allergic reactions, or loss of goodwill arising from or related to the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim; or (b) [Insert amount]. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limits may not apply to you.

20. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless [Insert legal entity name], its founders, directors, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your User Content, misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of third-party rights.

21. Apple App Store terms

If you download the app from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

1. These Terms are between you and Let Them Cook, not Apple.

2. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.

3. The license is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by Apple’s Usage Rules.

4. We are responsible for maintenance and support for the Service, as specified in these Terms or required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support.

5. In the event of a failure to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app if applicable. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

6. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims relating to the Service or your use of it, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection, privacy, and intellectual property claims.

7. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a terrorist-supporting country and are not listed on a U.S. government restricted party list.

8. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

If Apple’s standard EULA applies or is required in a country, it will apply to the extent required by Apple.

22. Google Play terms

If you download the app from Google Play, your use may also be subject to Google Play terms, payment rules, refund processes, and subscription cancellation settings.

23. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

24. Governing law and disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Delhi, India.
