AI, Nutrition, Allergen, and Food Safety Disclaimer
App: Let Them Cook
Let Them Cook uses AI to help suggest recipes, parse pantry inputs, plan meals, generate shopping lists, and answer cooking questions through Chef. This page explains important limitations.
1. AI may be wrong
AI-generated outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsafe. The app may misunderstand pantry items, quantities, labels, photos, voice commands, dietary restrictions, allergies, cooking times, or substitutions.
You must review all recipes, ingredients, quantities, allergens, expiry dates, cooking steps, and safety instructions before cooking or eating.
2. Not medical or nutritionist advice
The Service is not a doctor, dietitian, nutritionist, allergist, food safety authority, or healthcare provider. Approximate calories, macros, nutrition values, dietary labels, and nutrition goals are informational estimates only and may be inaccurate.
Do not use the Service to diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage any health condition. Consult a qualified professional before making diet changes for diabetes, pregnancy, allergies, food intolerance, eating disorders, medical nutrition therapy, medication interactions, or any medical condition.
3. Allergy and cross-contamination risk
We attempt to respect allergy and dietary preferences that you provide, but we cannot guarantee allergen-free recipes. Risks may arise from:
user-entered errors;
AI misunderstanding;
mislabeled ingredients;
substitutions;
hidden ingredients;
shared equipment;
cross-contamination;
pantry items with incomplete labels;
restaurant, packaged, or third-party ingredient changes.
Always check packaging, labels, allergen statements, and ingredient sources. If you have a severe allergy, do not rely on the app as your only safety check.
4. Expiry, storage, and food safety
Expiry warnings and pantry data are based on user input, estimates, and app logic. They may be wrong. You are responsible for checking smell, texture, packaging, storage conditions, spoilage, refrigeration, contamination, and safe cooking temperatures.
Do not use food that appears spoiled, contaminated, unsafe, or improperly stored, even if the app suggests it.
5. Cooking safety
Use appropriate kitchen safety practices. Be careful with heat, knives, pressure cookers, open flames, oil, steam, electrical appliances, and raw meat/seafood/eggs. Follow appliance manuals and local food safety guidance.
6. Emergency
In case of an allergic reaction, poisoning, choking, injury, fire, or medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on the app for emergency help.
7. Reporting unsafe outputs
If you see an unsafe, offensive, or incorrect AI output, use the in-app report/flag option or contact contact@letthemcookapp.com. Reports help us improve filters and moderation.
